Indy Women's Half

Virtual Marathon and 5K Run

What is a Virtual Run?

A virtual event allows participants to complete the race on their own. You will run or walk your registered race distance at your own pace and at a time and location of your choosing. You can complete your distance anywhere you prefer, whether it's in a park, throughout your neighborhood, or even on a treadmill. If it's your preference, you can complete the full race distance in stages, just add up your total time/distance to submit. The location is 100% your choice. The important steps are completing the distance during the approved calendar window then accurately uploading your results.  Once those steps are complete your swag bag will be mailed.

All Virtual Race packets, including  participant bag, IWH event Shirt, Bib and Medal will will be mailed out regardless of whether you submit your results online.

Transfer to Virtual:

You may transfer your current race entry to the Virtual option at no cost to you. Please log into your Race Roster account and transfer your current registration to the 2021 Virtual option.  You can log into your Race Roster account HERE.

You DO NOT need to pick up your packet on race day- your event shirt and medal will be mailed to you after you've submitted your race results.

(You can download instructions on how to transfer to the virtual option here:)

If you'd like to submit your results to be included in our online results, here are the steps to complete your Virtual Run:

  1. Schedule time to complete the distance you signed up for: You can run anywhere but the distance must be completed between September 1st and December 1st to be eligible to receive your packet.

  2. Accurately Document the distance and finish-time of your run:  Record your run/walk time using a smart watch or tracking device. Then take and/or save a screenshot or photo of your watch or tracking app for proof of completion. (Garmin, Strava, Nike all work well and acceptable)

  3. Take a photo to add to the fun!:  Take a selfie or have a friend take your photo and post it on social media. Watch for Carmel Marathon hashtags and our Facebook account to your see your pictures so others can celebrate with you on the fun!

  4. Officially submit your results:  We have created a special link to submit your virtual race results.  Through this special link, all virtual results will be grouped together to see how you fit into the crowd.  THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO SUBMIT RESULTS. Results emailed or sent via text will not be accepted.

Note: No awards will be granted for the Virtual event. Since you'll be creating your own course that will not be certified, Virtual runs may not count as qualifiers for other races such as the Chicago or New York marathons.
