Indy Women's Half
Virtual Marathon and 5K Run
What is a Virtual Run?
A virtual event allows participants to complete the race on their own. You will run or walk your registered race distance at your own pace and at a time and location of your choosing. You can complete your distance anywhere you prefer, whether it's in a park, throughout your neighborhood, or even on a treadmill. The location is 100% your choice. The important steps are completing the distance during the approved calendar window then accurately uploading your results. Once those steps are complete your swag bag will be mailed.
Here are the steps to completing your Virtual Run:
Schedule a time to complete the distance you signed up for: You can run anywhere but the run must take place between September 1st and December 1st to be elgible to receive your packet.
Accurately Document the distance and finish-time of your run: Record your run/walk time using a smart watch or tracking device. Then take and/or save a screenshot or photo of your watch or tracking app for proof of completion. (Garmin, Strava, Nike all work well and acceptable)
Take a photo to add to the fun!: Take a selfie or have a friend take your photo and post it on social media. Watch for Carmel Marathon hashtags and our Facebook account to your see your pictures so others can celebrate with you on the fun!
Officially submit your results: We have created a special link to submit your virtual race results. Through this special link, all virtual results will be grouped together to see how you fit into the crowd. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO SUBMIT RESULTS. Results emailed or sent via text will not be accepted.
Results = Swag Bag will be on its way!: Your Race Swag Bag will include your official race shirt and medal. NOTE: Swag Bags will start sending at minimum, a week following the race ( Packets will be sent out once a week to those who have submitted their virtual race confirmations.)
Note: No awards will be granted for the Virtual event. Since you'll be creating your own course that will not be certified, Virtual runs may not count as qualifiers for other races such as the Chicago or New York marathons.
